This CLE is intended to cover what to do (and what not do) when you first become aware that you might be subject to a claim of malpractice and/or a disciplinary complaint, as well as, when a claim or complaint is actually made against you or your firm. This will include who to contact and when, whether it is the client or former client, your professional liability carrier, personal counsel and/or disciplinary counsel. Notice provisions of certain professional liability policies will be reviewed and explained. Disciplinary claims will be discussed in the context of complying with requests of disciplinary counsel and professional liability policy provisions covering such claims.
