The use of social media has become ubiquitous. This new age offers exciting opportunities but also presents unique ethical challenges for attorneys. Understanding the different types of social media and how ethical rules apply to these new tools is essential, regardless of whether or not an attorney actively uses social media in their own practice. This presentation will examine how and when attorney use of social media may run afoul of the Rhode Island Rules of Professional Conduct.
