The practice of law presents occasional ethical challenges in any area of concentration, but for those attorneys who chose to represent parties in domestic cases in Family Court these challenges arise on a regular basis. All of the normal ethical questions surrounding zealous and competent representation, conflicts of interests, confidentiality, fairness of fee arrangements, and balancing the duties owed to clients, the court and opposing counsel are magnified in the often highly emotionally charged atmosphere surrounding family disintegration. This program will attempt to provide some workable guidelines and tips on recognizing and resolving ethical challenges for lawyers engaged in domestic practice in Family Court.
